As you have probably heard by now Brad and I are sponsoring a fundraising cruise for an organization called Life with Cancer^®. We were introduced to Life with Cancer^® in January 2008 just after Brad was diagnosed with cancer. It was a tough time for us. We felt like we had the floor pulled out from under you and we didn’t know which way to turn.

Then while waiting in a surgeon’s office we picked up a copy of Life with Cancer^® calendar. We suddenly felt like we had been thrown a lifeline. Suddenly we had somewhere to turn for support, counseling, and education for free. Over the next 16 months we utilized every service that Life with Cancer^® had to offer.

Even though Brad was given the all clear in May, we still participate in the support groups as a way to help others that have to travel down the same path we have gone. But we wanted to do something more than offer help in support groups, so we established the Cruise for Life 2010 fundraising cruise.

This cruise has a dual purpose. Not only will you be able to enjoy a vacation but at the same time as you are sailing you will be helping to raise money for Life with Cancer^®. How many times have you been on vacation knowing the vacation is raising money for a non-profit organization?

On Wednesday 14^th October 2009 we are holding a fundraising event for the upcoming cruise. The event is called “Cruise for Life 2010 Healthy Hour benefitting Life with Cancer^®”.

The event will be held at Vespucci Restaurant (www.vespuccirestaurant.com) in Fairfax, VA and will cost $20 per person. At the event you will be able to sample hors d’ourves and smoothies create by Zizania (www.zizania.biz). We will also be having door prizes, giveaways , fun, and will we will share information about the fundraising cruise.
